Want to buy Party Central?

We receive quite a few inquiries to buy our partycentral.com domain name. Although this business is our passion and it's fairly easy to operate (phone, fax & e-mail), it's not "for sale". We realize anything is possible for "the right price", but we have turned-down all offers for the domain name so far (ranging from $700 to $20,000 US). We would not even CONSIDER selling the name for less than 2 million [although we'd probably get in excess of 5 million]. Most popular domain names are selling for $2 million, 3.5 million (altavista.com), and $5 million US dollars. One even went for 8 million (business.com).

Since there is a substantial cost (and trouble) in re-routing our present customers with a NEW domain name (and what would THAT name be??), not to mention re-printing all stationary, the price for selling the domain name would have to be pretty darned high even if we weren't considering the other aspects I've mentioned.

If we don't get an offer for our asking price, we will only consider selling it upon retirement (the year 2023). For inquiries of buying the Party Central business (domain name and database), we would consider selling them together - as they belong together, and we could officially retire with no worries, or only run Party Central Canada, since we own partycentral.ca and own that business name in Canada.
