Creation is a San Francisco Bay Area Base Band that creatively combines the talents of musicians from the Islands of Jamaica, St. Thomas Virgin Islands and the U.S. Their song list is over 130 songs and can perform three music set for a week and you wouldn’t here the same song twice, “Creation” have been spreading this musical love for the past ten years, and have never mist a GIG. Their have played to hundreds of Private Parties, Weddings, Festivals, boat cruises, Country Fairs, states fairs and corporate events through out California and Nevada. You can Find Creation Rocking The house at Bay Area Clubs, Festivals, Privates Parties and special Events, where they perform their original musical compositions along with a diverse repertoire of Reggae, SKA, Scoca, and Dance Hall Rhythms. Israel Powerhouse: Vocals
From Jamaica. Over his 21-year Career, he has been the Lead Singer for "Roots of Creation", Umoja", "Bakana", "I-World" and currently with "Creation". He won the 1984 Los Angeles Song Competition and was awarded 1988 Male Vocalist of the Year in the San Francisco Bay Area.Claude C. Penn: Drums
Born in the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Thomas, Claude's music Career began as a Drummer with New York's "Ghost Riders". He went on to perform with other International Acts on the East coast and the Virgin Islands. Claude journeyed to California in 1984, where he first worked with "Rayleen's Sweetwater", a Top 40 Country Band. Returning to more familiar roots, he joined "I-World", later the "International Rockers", and then "Creation".José 'Tembo' Alfresco: Bass
José has been on the Reggae scene in Northern California for over 15 years. He also studied Jazz and Latin styles. Before joining "Creation", José has played and recorded with "Lambsbrea" and "Dub Addxx".Ethan Bixby: Guitar
Ethen grew up in Berkeley, California, in a musical household where his parents played Folk music. He first played Trumpet, then switched to Guitar, then Bass and started playing in Blues Club at age 16. Ethan then studied many styles including Flamenco, Folk, Gospel, Reggae, Soca, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Funk & West African Hilife. He's performed with various groups, including "The Mississippi Delta Blues Band", with whom he toured Europe in 1987. From a young age Ethan enjoyed West Indian music and has been playing with Reggae Bands since the age of 18.Steve Krchniak: Trumpet & Keyboard
Steve has played Piano & Keyboards for 18 years and Trumpet for 11 years. He worked with Reggae, Blues, Funk and R&B Bands in the Bay Area since 1995. He also has extensive studio experience recording various styles of music. Steve is a 1994 Graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Born in St. Thomas, Kamaica, Tenor's first instrument was the Bamboo Flute. Soon he took up the Saxophone and went on to play and record in Kensington, Jamaica with the "Upsetters", the "Barret Brothers" and "The Whailers". with the Soul Syndicate", he backed up many of the originators of Reggae music, including "Ken Booth", "Dennis Brown", "Judy Mowatt" and others. Since he came to California with "Soul Syndicate", Tenor worked with "Lambsbread" and "Dub Addxx" before joining "Creation".Chuck Boothe: Percussion
A graduate of San Francisco State University, 'The Professor' as he is known, has studied the many Polyrhythms of Africa, Cuba, and Haiti. As a 'Congerro' for well-known dance and Performance groups such as Ed Mock Studios and Dimensions Dance Theatre, and later as Drummer from the "Reggae Blues Band" and "Figurehead", he masterfully blends Afro-centric rhythms with roots Reggae.See their Prices.

Root Awakening
A 5 -piece Band that are best known for reprising the classics with powerful 4-part vocal harmonies. We also play a good assortment of modern reggae, lots of love songs, and a good-sized Bob Marley repertoire.
Played at many of the major music festivals and provided backing for some of the greatest names in reggae. "We play several weddings each year and know what it takes to keep a wedding crowd entertained and grooving."
Steel drums are available - our drummer is from Bonaire, Dutch West Indies, and knows most all the Caribbean beats!

Formed in 1983, they have performed at concerts and festivals in Nevada, California & Oregon. They have opened for such reggae greats as Third World, Israel Vibrations, the Congos, Zulu Spear, Messenjah, The Itals, The Wailers Band, and Burning Spear. Their musical style has been described as "eclectic", "World fusion", and "reggae with a rock edge". They has been actively involved supporting and performing at numerous political and environmental actions. Their humor and earthly philosophies are reflected through their environmental and political lyrics for which Rootstock is well known. |
